Top spot: the City Centre

for entrepreneurs

Thanks to its characteristic waterways, glittering nature, and independent shops and restaurants, Leeuwarden is not only a fantastic place to live. It is also an ideal place to base a business, with a wide variety of spaces. Both De Zwette and De Hemrik are excellent business parks- right in the orbit of the city's historic centre- and they are joined by De Centrale. If that's not enough, you'll also find the EnergieCampus close at hand. So, there's really only top spot for businesspeople not to miss: our beautiful inner-city.

Extraordinary down-town - SPACE

The city centre of Leeuwarden is known for its stylish new buildings and monumental historic spaces. These lie between the criss-crossing waterways, green boulevards, atmospheric shopping streets; and relaxed squares lined by convivial terraces- as well as benefiting from crowd-pullers such as the Fries Museum. In the midst of all this, you'll find the tallest offices in the North: the Achmeatoren, the converted market hall of the Friesland Bank, the historic symbol of the city the Oldehove, and the famously beautiful Prinsentuin city park. All of these come together to create a wonderful mosaic of places within the Frisian capital city.

During your lunch break, you just have to go outside: a meeting upon a terrace in the sun is transformative. Running a business in the city centre is naturally a little bit more convivial than running one in a business park. The city centre of Leeuwarden is outstanding for its selection of shops, places to eat, and places to kick back after work. Indeed, Leeuwarden is known as a real shopping city: a magnet for people from the rest of the province! You won't only find shops and restaurants in the city centre either, we have a wide range of office buildings, and along with a good supply of parking garages our city centre is an especially interesting proposition for larger companies.
