Active business - in a new jacket
The biggest shopping and business park in Friesland is located, naturally, in Leeuwarden. De Zwette stretches across six areas, which have become home to more than 300 businesses. From automotive to insurance, and from home furnishings to art-supplies, you'll find a company doing nearly everything here. The park will even become home to the EnergieCampus in the near future: meaning that there will also be an information point for questions about sustainability, and also a powerful attraction for other businesses. De Zwette has a very active business association: which has its own newspaper and employs a park-manager. It also has fibre-optic internet connections, and a direct link to both the A32 and N31 motorways- making De Zwette incredibly accessible: both digitally and physically.
for space and views
On the eastern side of the city you'll find De Hemrik: 230 hectares of business park. Large numbers of SME's are established here, with many in the sectors of crafts, industry, and (food) wholesaling. Aside from these, De Hemrik also benefits from a large number of mechanics garages and car showrooms. The park is very accessible from the road system, but equally so by boat! There are public docks for loading and unloading, meaning that water-borne transport is very much possible.
Lots of businesses at De Hemrik are business-to-consumer: aside from the various automotive-related companies, outlets such as De Praxis, Makro, and Camping Totaal ensure that there is always a steady flow of people through the park. To set your (and your customers and clients') minds at peace, it is good to know that De Hermrik has been awarded a sixth star by the 'Keurmerk Veilig Ondernemen' (quality-stamp for safe entrepreneurship).
for an accessible city
If you're looking for a roomy and future-proofed office or business location, and you also want a short commute from home, then De Werp is just your spot! It sits to the south of Leeuwarden, and comes under a newly-defined collection of villages called De Zuidlanden. Living and working in this area means living the village lifestyle, with lots of room for nature. Meanwhile, you're just a short hop from Leeuwarden's city centre.
With easy access onto the Hook of Leeuwarden, you can be on the way to Groningen, Drachten, or Heerenveen in no time. Accessibility will be made even better in the coming years, with a new NS station 'Werpsterhoek' soon to be completed.
